（2016宁波十校联考）阅读下面短文，根据所给情节进行续写，使之构成一个完整的故事。
Holly was confused as she opened the birthday present from her friend, Susan – it was a twelve-by-eighteen-inch dark blue carpet. Her “thanks” was hardly heard as Holly tried hard not to show her disappointment.
The next morning, I carried a kitchen rubbish bag outside only to find Susan’s carpet lying there. I reached in and pulled it out of the can. After giving it brushing, I brought it into the house and put it away.
Before Holly’s birthday, Susan had been a regular visitor in our home. But I realized it had been nearly three weeks since we’d even heard the mention of Susan’s name. I missed her warm smile and eager-to-please ways.
“Susan invited me to come over to her house after school tomorrow.” Holly announced as she put her books down on the kitchen table. Although her voice carried a so-what attitude, I sensed she was pleased by the invitation.
We were travelling along the winding country road that led to her house the following day. On the way Susan talked nervously about her foster mother and the seventeen cats they had taken in and cared for.
When we came to a stop, Susan’s foster mother- who introduced herself as Glenda- gave us a warm welcome.
I followed Susan’s foster mom, Glenda, into the kitchen. After clearing a small area, Glenda poured us each a cup of black coffee with trembling hand. Then she began to relax as we drank our coffee and chatted about her cats.
Her eyes shone as she showed her fondness for Susan. But her expression turned blue when she referred briefly to the girl’s past. In a short time, I came to respect this generous-hearted woman who had opened her home to a young girl and attempted to make a difference in her life.

“Is this what you were looking for”
______________________________--I placed the piece of carpet on the table in front of her. “Thanks, Mom.” A tear or two slipped from her eyes and splashed onto the dark blue carpet that, as if by magic, had become the most precious birthday present in the whole world.

7月3日。
霍家日历上画了一个五角星，霍艾还特地画了一个寿星戴的帽子。
是霍莉的生日。
霍莉和霍艾是一对姐妹，如果不是她们容貌上的相似，很少有人能想到她们竟然是亲生姐妹。
霍莉，外表艳丽- xing -格外向，多才多艺成绩又好，是老师的宠儿，校内的风云人物，而霍艾患有腿疾，连站立都是一种奢望。正因此，她从小就在家中，由父母聘请的家庭教师授课，- xing -格相对内敛。
如果说霍莉在五官上有什么最为出彩的地方，那一定是她斜斜飞扬的长眉。这样一双眉毛放在任何人脸上，都会立刻体现出所有者高傲的神采。
但相似的放在霍艾脸上，却因为她习惯- xing -低眉的神态显得冷淡。
霍莉的生日恰好在期末考试之后，临近放假，学业压力暂时减轻了，同学们收到霍家的生日派对请柬，都或多或少表现出兴奋的情绪。使得本该愁云惨淡的最后分析试卷的两天上课都过得像节日一样热烈。
生日聚会果然像所有人预料的那样非常精彩，霍家租赁的一个小型体育场在当日晚上八点到十点对所有持有派对请柬的来宾开放，拉花和彩灯装点下，歌声、嬉笑声久久不歇。
霍莉收到很多礼物，聚会结束后，她坐在客厅中拆开精美的包装盒，一边向妹妹展示她的所得。
直到拆到其中一份礼物的时候，她微微停顿了一下。
又扁又平的纸盒毫无装饰，在一堆五颜六色带着蝴蝶结彩带的礼物中显得十分另类。
“是谁送的？”
霍莉看了看包装盒上的署名，一愣，说道，“苏思安。”
姐妹俩对视了一眼。
苏思安这个名字，霍艾并不陌生。她是姐姐霍莉的同班同学，上学期期末突然转学过来的，霍莉生日之前，她还经常到霍家做客。
不过，说到苏思安，最值得一提的一点，就是她暗恋霍莉。
虽然霍艾很少出门，与别人接触，但作为一个经常在家网上冲浪的宅女，她对于男男女女cp有着出奇地高的接受度。
